5 engagement tips from a southern California wedding photographer. Engagement should be a fun time to enjoy your love and look forward to your wedding day! One of the perks is having your photos done! Unless you are a full time model, this will be a time that you will have your photos taken for the first time with your significant other!
Here are some tips for your engagement session!
1. BRING CHAPSTICK
No one likes crusty lips and there will be *some* kissing!
*SUB TIP: DON’T DO THE DUCK LIP KISSING. SMILING KISSES ARE ACTUALLY BEST 🙂
LADIES! ALWAYS FACE YOUR FOREHEAD TOWARDS THE CAMERA
2. BRING WATER
MODELING IS HARD WORK, Y’ALL.
3. OUTFITS ARE SO IMPORTANT! If you know me, you know I LOVE fashion! Wear something that you feel best in. It’s not the best time to experiment a new style of clothing(unless working with a stylist.) Bring outfits that show off your best features and hide the ones you are not a fan of! Usually solid tones and neutrals are the way to go! They are timeless and won’t date your photos!
Bring comfy shoes if you are wearing heels(there might be hiking involved.) AND BRING SOME ACCESSORIES! Hats, jewelry, jackets, and glasses can change up looks and don’t take much effort to change.

4. TREAT YOURSELF!
LADIES(men too)! This is your time to pamper yourself like no other! Hire a professional hair and makeup artist! This will bring the confidence.
Some women use this a time to do their hair and makeup trial for their wedding.
Get your nails done. I will be getting photos of your hand!
5. Clean your ring.
After all, that ring is what started all of this!
